About Us

We are a Scouts BSA Troop for girls ages 11 - 17 in North Smithfield, RI. Scouts BSA is the traditional Scouting experience for youth in the fifth grade through high school. Service, community engagement and leadership development become increasingly important parts of the program as youth lead their own activities and work their way toward earning Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout.
Meetings are Tuesday night, Scouter's Hall in North Smithfield, RI. Call Scoutmaster Josh to confirm our meeting before you come.
We have campouts and activities every month. Some of our past trips include hiking Mt. Osceola, snow tubing at Nashoba Valley, roller skating at United Skates of America, and many others.
Every summer we have a week of adventure at Yawgoog Scout Reservation

Our Troop

  1. Fun. We want all scouts to enjoy Scouting and take pride in the Troop. Scouts take an active part in the planning process and get to choose activities.
  2. Leadership. We build youth leaders and the Scouts run the troop under the guidance of adults.
  3. Membership. Join us and as a part of the troop you'll be attend all activities and events.

Hello! I am Scoutmaster Josh Thibeault and I look forward to bringing a great Scouts BSA program to the girls of Troop 438. We're going to have fun and a great Scouting experience. I live in North Smithfield and have 3 children involved in Scouting. I enjoy outdoor activities and learning how to be a better Scout. I was a Boy Scout and made a lifetime of memories. After high school I joined a fire department and the U.S. Army. Both of those choices were influenced by Scouting. I still use the leadership skills I learned in Scouting in my career as Foreman and Senior Technician at Anchor Subaru, the largest service department in New England.
